The report Fertile Ground: State of Forest Carbon Finance 2017 details innovative mechanisms that channel finance towards enhancing the ability of forests and other natural land areas to absorb carbon from the atmosphere.
Kenya’s soils are being degraded through suboptimal land management practices, causing declining yields and deterioration of land quality. Sustainable Land Management (SLM) practices can improve soil quality and enhance crop yields.
Soils are the foundation of all terrestrial life on the planet and are essential for agricultural production. Yet unsustainable farming practices are degrading soils across South Asia and many other parts of the world, threatening food security.
The development objective of this project is to increase agricultural productivity of degraded lands in selected areas of UP. The objective would be achieved by reversing water-induced land degradation, enhancing soil fertility, and improving the provision of agriculture support services.
