Thomas Verheye is Principal Advisor at the European Commission on matters relating to sustainable finance and investment. His prior positions included several managerial responsibilities for EU policies on air quality, ozone depleting substances and fluorinated gases, innovative financing solutions relating to climate and energy, technology transfer under the UNFCC, the auto-oil programme, etc. His previous employers include the Bank of New York (Vice President corporate action at the bank's global custody branch), the International Monetary Fund (Treasurer's department), and Ernst & Young (Auditing branch). He holds a bachelor and master's degree in business economics from the University of Ghent, and a MSc in audit and tax from the Vlerick Business School.
