Uganda is planning and implementing climate change adaptation interventions to help reduce vulnerability and enhance resilience for farmers, fishers, foresters and communities.
The majority of communities in Uganda depend on agriculture for food and income. Unfortunately, agriculture is also the most vulnerable sector to climatic changes. “Therefore, for meaningful adaptation interventions, we should target the agriculture sectors.” stresses Mr. Mutabazi.
The FAO-UNDP “Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAP-Ag)” Programme is working with Uganda, and other countries, to safeguard livelihoods and promote resilience.
