Nishant Bhardwaj

Nishant Bhardwaj is the new Global Sector Lead- Renewable Energy/Deputy Director since 2 August 2019.

 

In this role, he is leading technical advisory, strategy, planning, and implementation of renewable energy programs. Nishant will oversee the development and execution of GGGI’s renewable energy engagements at country, regional, and global level.

 

Nishant, an Indian national, brings experience from the Asian Development Bank, Department for International Development (DFID), and private sector consulting. Prior to GGGI, Nishant worked for more than 20 years on renewable energy systems, power sector reforms, and green infrastructure finance in 13 countries. Nishant managed multilateral trust funds, developed institutional partnerships, mobilized finance, and influenced policy reforms.

 

Nishant holds a Master degree in Energy and Environmental Management from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Sciences from University of Delhi. Nishant is a traveler with a keen interest in experiencing new cultures and amateur wildlife photographer.
