This Country Planning Framework (CPF) sets the strategic direction for the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in Vanuatu over the period 2017-2021. It is aligned with Vanuatu’s action plans for climate change and the National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP). 

In line with the NSDP and National Energy Roadmap (NERM), Vanuatu's CPF will focus on two specific outcomes:

  • Expanded access to affordable and sustainable energy services for rural households, businesses, and public institutions through renewable energy. 
  • Sustainable energy services power rural livelihood creation and economic growth in the agriculture, fisheries, and tourism sectors.

This study evaluates options by which the Indian economy can move towards an inclusive green growth paradigm of development. It combines the rigorous scientific and economic studies done at the national and state levels (Punjab and Himachal Pradesh). The objective of this analysis is to understand the impact in India of energy-related green growth interventions on future energy demand, emissions, energy access, energy security, and development indicators.
