The forest brief The Bonn Challenge and the Paris Agreement: How can Forest Landscape Restoration Advance Nationally Determined Contributions? stresses some key messages on how IUCN's work in advancing forest landscape restoration (FLR) as a nature-based solution to climate change – including the Bonn Challenge global restoration goal, and through more targeted restoration opportunites assessment methodology (ROAM) operations – are contributing to national efforts for designing and implementing climate change action in the forest sector.Â
It presents the findings from the IUCN and Climate Focus rapid analysis of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as well as the more in depth review by IUCN of NDCs for countries which have made pledges to the Bonn Challenge – as a first step for enhancing the ambition and implementation of NDCs.
The report "Harnessing the Potential of Productive Forests and Timber Supply Chains for Climate Change Mitigation and Green Growth" evaluates opportunities for harnessing the potential for climate mitigation and green growth in the forest sector.
