GGGI India - Green Growth Planning Strategies

GGGI is supporting the Government of India in achieving inclusive, sustainable economic growth through the Green Growth Planning Strategies project, which is:

• Developing an integrated sustainability assessment in support of growth objectives outlined in the national government’s 12th Five Year Plan
• Carrying out technical studies of inclusive green growth options at the national and subnational level
• Conducting policy and sectoral analysis, and supporting the development of green growth strategies at the statelevel in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh
• Assisting stakeholders to integrate and implement green growth opportunities in key sectors
• Assisting the State Transport Department of Himachal Pradesh (HP) to develop a bankable proposal for introduction of Electric Buses in the state, as a priority green growth opportunity

The objectives of the project are to comprehensively examine and prioritize green growth development options, develop state-level green growth and climate resilience strategies that include financing options and to improve awareness, outreach and capacity on green growth planning and implementation in priority sectors.
