On 2 March 2023 (15:00-17:00 Almaty/GMT+6, 10:00-12:00 CET), Global Opportunities for Sustainable Development Goals (GO4SDGs) is hosting a webinar to empower youth and Central Asian Universitates to embrace sustainable lifestyles and encourage practicing the sustainability in Universities of Central Asia.

Sustainable living and lifestyles are being in the core and appear in the Sustainable Development Goals № 4 on Education and № 12.8 on Responsible Consumption. UNEP is taking measures to accelerate action towards a healthy planet for the prosperity of all by addressing and promoting sustainable lifestyles and consumption t to live within a 1.5-degree. During the webinar the Little Book of Green Nudges will be introduced to universities to facilitate sustainable change and influencing behavioral pattern and decision-making. Pilot activities were launched in 2022 in close partnership with the Kazakh-German University to accomplish immediate capacity building of Central Asian Universities, assess the gaps and needs, and promote dialogue on the topic across the Central Asian sub-region. Recent assessment indicated the following areas of further expertise investment a) infrastructure, b) education, and c) research.
Objective of the webinar:
The webinar will become a platform for experience exchange among the involved under the project universities and international experts. The discussion will briefly present the first results of the survey and assessment conclusions on the Central Asian universities’ sustainability.
Participants:
Central Asia universities, upper/graduate class students, private sector, and civil society representatives, are invited to participate in the Webinar on Little Book of Greening Nudges.
About GO4SDGs:
GO4SDGs was launched by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the German Ministry for the Environment in 2019 with the goal to accelerate regional solutions for inclusive green economies and sustainable consumption and production by sharing best practices and offering science-based knowledge, policy tools and capacity development opportunities in priority areas to “build back better.”
