ABOUT THE WORKING GROUP
Infrastructure investments have long term consequences and can shape development paths for decades to come. It is thus imperative to not only address existing gaps in infrastructure but to also ensure system-wide resilience to natural and human-made disasters, and climate variability. Moreover, sustainable infrastructure will be critical to delivering on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate change commitments made under the Paris Agreement. With deep uncertainties characterizing many of the factors at play in making these decisions, finding new and rigorous methods to support decision-making in the planning and design of infrastructure is essential. The GGKP Sustainable Infrastructure Working Group is tasked with identifying knowledge gaps on issues related to sustainable infrastructure and supporting the development of thematic analytical papers to help catalyse knowledge generation to address these gaps.
The working group launched a call for papers which formed the basis for the 2017 GGKP Annual Conference.
