This report presents the findings from a literature review and interviews with a wide variety of stakeholders of the Ecosystem-based approaches to adaptation: strengthening the evidence and informing policy project activities in Djilor District in Senegal. EbA measures in this project site include the construction of anti-salt bunds, nursery establishment, applying assisted natural regeneration techniques, reforestation, introducing new roosters, vegetable gardening and establishing mechanisms for regulating the exploitation of natural resources. The report concludes that the project activities have improved the resilience of local communities, improved their adaptive capacity and reduced their vulnerability, with the benefits being felt by a range of social groups and a number of social co-benefits also emerging.

The aim of this report,TEEB Implementation: Supporting Biodiversity and Climate Friendly Land Management in Agricultural Landscapes - Background review for Kenya and Tanzania, is to assess the current knowledge on the values of biodiversity and ecosystem services in Tanzania and Kenya, to understand what can currently be readily assessed with respect to the interactions between climate change, biodiversity and agricultural development to look at major policy initiatives already in place in the environment and development space, and map key stakeholders.

The experimental ecosystem accounts for Uganda presented in this report follow on from a recent publication which explored approaches to accounting for species-level biodiversity and a feasibility study of applications using existing data in Uganda. The accounts compiled respond to policy entry points for biodiversity and ecosystem related concerns in Uganda.
