Comprehensive wealth in this report means the country's produced, natural, human, financial and social capital. The findings of the report suggest that the concerns for Canada's future in terms of comprehensive wealth is well-founded as the analysis demonstrates that the foundation of the GDP growth is fragile.

Comprehensive Wealth in Canada - Measuring What Matters In The Long Run presents one of the first measurements of comprehensive wealth using detailed data for a single country. The report reviews Canada’s comprehensive wealth performance over the 33-year period from 1980 to 2013, revealing that while comprehensive wealth in Canada grew in real per capita terms by only 7 per cent, average individual consumption grew by 54 per cent over this time period.
