Developing the EU Long Term Climate Strategy: Policy paper seeks to develop a series of consistent choices upon which the new European Long-Term Climate Strategy can be built.
This paper is the outcome of a yearlong effort, which included an initial brainstorming in Brussels in June 2017, followed by a series of stakeholder engagements in five EU capitals at the beginning of 2018. The consultative process was concluded with a meeting with stakeholders in Brussels in March 2018.
The project has two outputs. A technical paper, which provides a “roadmap” for the development and delivery of the LTCS. It describes the main issues that need to be addressed, as well as the potential choices that can be made in the design of the new strategy, as well as an analysis of the implied trade-offs.
