Youth Employability Strategy Green- Morocco (YES Green)

You are here

The nationwide green sector strategy will identify the most suitable green job opportunities for the most vulnerable youth populations through a cross-matching based on the highest unemployment rates, the highest potential for green businesses and the availability of relevant actors from local authorities and the private sector. The strategy intends to develop and implement a demand-driven capacity building plan for green jobs, aimed at vulnerable youth beneficiaries and key employment creation actors through specific training programs related to green economy, management and leadership. Concretely, the project includes the negotiation and conclusion of 5 MOUs with training institutions and private businesses; the development of 5 thematic training modules (renewable energy, eco-tourism, integrated water management, energy efficiency in buildings and waste management); the training of 50 trainers and the formation of 500 youth on specific green job sectors. Furthermore, the strategy also aims at facilitating the access to finance for green projects by designing loan and grant schemes specific to green businesses, together with national partners and financial institutions, and by supporting young “green entrepreneurs” in developing their business plans in order to access loans and grants.
