The programme Sustainable Regional Economic Growth and Investment (SREGIP) tackles the inclusive and environmentally sustainable development of Indonesian value chains by focusing on agro-business and tourism. Currently, value added, inclusiveness and environmental sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and smallholder farmers in selected regions and sectors are insufficient (core problem). As such, it is the programme’s objective to increase efficiency and environmental sustainability of 100 SMEs as well as of 5000 farmers as a means to promote inclusive growth in selected value chains. SREGIP operates in two pilot regions (West Kalimantan and West Nusa Tenggara) and provides sectoral, process and organisational advice. Interventions address several levels to strengthen partner capacities in economic development policies and framework conditions, business services, cooperation with (larger) enterprises as well as innovation and technology (integrated approach).
