Jörg Peters is head of the “Climate Change in Developing Countries” research unit at RWI in Germany and Professor at University of Passau. He is an infrastructure and energy sector specialist with a focus on the evaluation of policy interventions in developing countries. In this context, Jörg evaluated electricity grid extension programs in Benin, Rwanda, and Tanzania as well as mini-grid and off-grid interventions in Senegal, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Nepal, and Rwanda. Moreover, Jörg is advising the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and its “Infrastructure and Environment” window as well as GIZ’s Energizing Development program (EnDev). He also consults international organizations and development banks such as MCC, Habitat for Humanity, FMO, and the World Bank. His research findings have been published in a broad range of journals, for example the Energy Journal, World Bank Economic Review, Journal of Health Economics, and World Development.
