Dr Dirk Willem te Velde is the head of the International Economic Development Group of The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in the United Kingdom. He is currently leading the European Report on Development 2014 on Financing and other Means of Implementation in a post-2015 world (having previously led ERD2012), is research leader of the DFID-ESRC Growth Research Programme and advises the UK House of Common Inquiry into the future of the development inquiry.
He has published a lot on private sector development, including “Regional infrastructure for trade facilitation – impact on growth and poverty reduction. A literature survey” (2015), “Assessing Aid for Trade: Effectiveness, Current Issues and Future Directions” (2013) and “Exploring the impact, effectiveness and future of Aid for Trade”. He also published for ONE a study on the effects of Dutch aid on development and the Netherlands (2014).
