Dirk Röttgers has worked in the field of energy economics and climate mitigation policy for more than 10 years, more than 3 of which as policy analyst for the OECD. His current work focusses in particular on empirical analysis of finance, investment and innovation in green infrastructure as well as the impact of climate change mitigation policies. Working at the OECD Environment Directorate as researcher and policy analyst allows him to work on and shape current trends in green finance and climate change mitigation policy. Dirk’s applied empirical work at the interface between public policy making and in-depth empirical research followed onto a position as postdoctoral researcher at the Leibniz University of Hanover, where he was also awarded his PhD in 2013 as environmental and development economist. In 2008 he had received his economics degree from the Georg-August University Göttingen.
