Daniel G. De La Torre Ugarte is a researcher and professor of Natural Resource Management at the Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Perú and an economic modeling expert. He was a member of the team that adapted the Threshold 21 Model for the green economy analysis in Peru, under the PAGE initiative. He was the main developer of POLYSYS, a widely-used model for assessing the impacts of national and regional economic and environmental policies US Agricultural Sector. Daniel has also worked for United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), Nathan Associates, Inc. and the EcoFair Trade Dialogue of the Heinrich Böll Foundation and Misereor. He also collaborates with several Non-Governmental Organizations on trade, biofules, and food security initiatives. From 1992 to 2014, he was a faculty member of the Department of Agricultural and Natural Resource Economics at the University of Tennessee.
