With over 10 years of work experience at the interface of climate & society, Dr. Tall is one of the world experts on global climate services, adaptation, resilience building and community-based early warning systems, operating at the nexus of climate knowledge and societal benefits. She started her career with the Red Cross International Federation where she served as regional technical adviser for West and Central Africa for several years, before joining the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) where she spearheaded among many more achievements several programs to scale up the delivery of climate information services for smallholder farmers in Africa, South Asia and Latin America, publishing a best practice synthesis report entitled: “Scaling up Climate Services for Farmers > Mission Possible”. A passionate researcher, practitioner and user of climate services herself, Arame’s previous post was in her home country of Senegal where she coordinated the work of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO)’s Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) Regional office for Africa, serving all of the countries of Africa with policy guidance to establish effective coordination frameworks at the national and regional level that enable and sustain the delivery of scientifically-sound climate information to guide adaptation planning on the ground.
