2iE and the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Burkina Faso in partnership with The University of Ouagadougou and the University of Perpignan are holding the 2nd edition of AFRICASOLAR, the international gathering of solar power stakeholders in Africa. For the event there is also the announement of a call for papers.
This event will run from June 25th to 27th 2015 and will gather about 300 attendants to focus upon the theme, Solar Market in Africa, Strengths and weaknesses.
AFRICASOLAR 2015 will bring together a great number of players, international scientists; investors interested in West Africa’s economic opportunities or experts on the area and give the chance to conduct a shared brainstorming. Conferences, debates and experience sharing will be put to contribution to bring out concrete recommendations for public and private stakeholders and decision makers in order to promote the development of the solar market in Africa.
The New Biyearly meeting for Solar Energy stakeholders in Africa
The first edition of AFRICASOLAR which took place in 2012 permitted to assess the solar energy’s potentials of Africa, the appropriate funding mechanisms and the required policy reform. The theme of the 2nd edition of Africa Solar will outline the assessment of different solar technologies, the opportunities offered by each of them and also evaluate the solar market in Africa in order to identify its strengths and weaknesses.
In other words, this edition will provide appropriate answers to the following questions:
- What are the main bottlenecks of the African solar market development despite the continent huge solar energy potential?
- What are the opportunities and possible solutions that could help expanding the use of solar technologies (solar thermal and photovoltaic) within the continent?
