The Paris Agreement recommends that all Parties strive to formulate and communicate Long-term low greenhouse gas Emission Development Strategies (LEDS) by 2020 as part of the long-term response to climate change. To participate in the efforts of the international community to address climate change, the Government of the Republic of Korea decided to develop its LEDS.

It aims to identify and implement further actions within the years 2010 and 2040.
