The course raises awareness of this important agenda in the context of climate resilient development, and it will help teams and project managers in integrating Weather and Climate Services considerations into their projects, both in terms of project conceptualization and delivery.
To meet the learning needs and build capacities of national stakeholders, the Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE) delivers the second edition of this e-learning course. The interactive and practice-oriented course seeks to provide interested participants from government, business, civil society and academia with an introduction to various approaches and policy instruments for reforming government spending and revenue generation with the goal of supporting the transition to a green economy.
There are many services that ecosystems provide that we never even consider, until we destroy them. Natural ecosystems help alleviate flooding, improve food security and protect our coastlines. Yet we consistently replace these ecosystems with manmade alternatives.
The course aims to help practitioners and policy-makers develop and implement Big Data innovation projects, policies, and partnerships in support of sustainable development objectives. Through a blend of teaching formats, including traditional instructor-led teaching, keynote speakers, and interactive and hands-on technical sessions, participants will learn the foundations of Big Data in the context of sustainable development and explore how to engage with Big Data in their daily work and life.
Designed in coordination with the National University of Singapore acting through its Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the Hertie School of Governance based in Berlin, this course will focus on building coherent policies for sustainable development in context of the 2030 Agenda.
The Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific at the Asian Institute of Technology, under the Climate Change Asia Initiative, with the support of the UNDP, will host a training programme on the Economics of Climate Change Adaptation, March 12-23 2018, in Bangkok.
