The UNEP FI Regional Roundtable (RRT) for Sustainable Finance in Europe will take place on 28-29 November 2019 in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, followed by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on sustainable land use, on 30th November.
The events, under the theme of “Breakthroughs in Sustainable Finance”, will provide insight into key developments such as the EU Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth, Principles for Responsible Banking, innovation in sustainable insurance, emerging approaches to impact-based financing and scaling up financing for landscape protection and restoration across agribusiness supply chains.
The events are co-organised by Luxembourg for Finance and hosted by the Luxembourg Government (Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Sustainable Development and Infrastructure).
The UNEP FI RRT for Sustainable Finance in Europe is part of the second round of RRTs on Sustainable Finance in 2019, which will bring together UNEP FI members and sustainable finance practitioners for two days of insights into advances in sustainable finance in 5 regions across the globe. The events will provide insight into key developments such as the benefits of sustainable finance integration in national economies, uptake and implementation of the Principles for Responsible Banking, positive impact measurement and growth, implementing the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, natural capital stress testing, social impact and inclusion as well as cutting edge applications of fintech in green financing.
Building on over two decades of successful Roundtables, these regional events are designed to create rich opportunities for UNEP FI members to connect with one another and to raise awareness of sustainable finance work in progress across banking, investment, and insurance.
