On 19-22 June 2018, the ICLEI is hosting ICLEI World Congress 2018 in Montreal, Canada.
The congress will bring together over 1200 local, regional and national governments, international agencies, researchers and private sector actors from around the world to build partnerships and design bold and innovative ideas to steer the global urban agenda and strengthen collective action on sustainability worldwide.

Urban Nature Forum
Nature-based development is vital in an urbanizing world. Nature provides essential services and new economic opportunities, and it protects and enhances the ecosystems that make this possible.
The ICLEI Cities Biodiversity Center makes sure that natural capital and ecosystem services are a core part of how we conceptualize and develop our cities. At the World Congress, the CBC, scientists, urban planners, policymakers, conservationists and other key stakeholders will explore nature as a key tool for more sustainable urbanization.
Researchers’ Symposium

The Researchers’ Symposium gathers leading research-practitioners and policymakers to explore opportunities and challenges when it comes to collaboration to shape policies that support sustainable urban development.
The Researchers’ Symposium represents an ideal opportunity to discuss the outcomes of the IPCC Cities Conference as well as ways for researchers to identify issues for practitioners and policymakers that can help to set the urban research agenda.
