On 20 February 2019 (6:30 PM CET), Nesta and the Universal Commons Project are hosting "Clean Air is our Natural Capital - Universal Commons Measurement Challenge".
This is the first in a series of events about how we measure social and natural capital. In conversations about social and natural capital, it helps when we’re all speaking the same language. Across the environmental sphere in particular, a plethora of single-use metrics have emerged, some laden with context and serving narrow purposes. The Universal Commons seeks to change this. The focus on air quality reflects the Universal Commons Measurement Challenge; a new challenge prize to develop innovative metrics that address social and environmental externalities.
Panellists include:
- John Elkington, Executive Chairman of Volans and creator of the Triple Bottom Line
- Dr. Penny Woods, Chief Executive of the British Lung Foundation
- Carl Obst, Director of the IDEEA Group and lead author of the UN’s System of Environmental-Economic Accounting
With special presentation from Simon Longstaff AO.
The discussion will be moderated by Geoff Mulgan, Chief Executive of Nesta.
